Costa Rica seeks to export organic products to Europe

Costa Rica participates this week at the largest European fair for organic products in  in Neurenberg, Germany. This way the country tries to positionate itself in this growing market. Some of the products Costa Rica promotes are: organic pineapple, mermelade of azará, blackberry, oranges and sugar.

It is important for Costa Rica to be present at this kind of fairs.  It may stimulate the interest in  organically grown products in Costa Rica if it succed to open ip foreign markets. In the country, countless small farmers are producing organic products but unfortunately their products don’t find much access in the supermarkets. Exporting their products may give them a boost also at the national market as well.
