Ecole Travel is a DMC with a solid track record. This is the reason that we have been awarded or allowed to be part of different labels and certifications. It demonstrates the quality and sustainability of our products and the processes that led to their creation.

 

We also believe in supporting just, transparent causes that generate benefits for society and environment in the long term.

Since 2010, Ecole Travel has been awarded with the highest level certification in the CST program for its sustainable practices for the 5th consecutive time. CST (Certification for Sustainable Tourism in Costa Rica) is a program developed and implemented by the National Tourism Board. Internationally it is considered an innovative instrument toward making the tourism industry sustainable.

Esencial is the national trade mark and only the businesses that qualify for 5 standards are able to use this mark. The compromise to pursuit sustainability in its operations; the compromise to deliver products with excellence; delivering products from Costa Rican origin; fullfilling the basic needs of the employees in order to ensure a decent quality of life; a continuous process of product innovation. Ecole Travel is very proud of being chosen to bear the official national trade mark.

This specially designed stamp will allow travelers to recognize governments and companies around the world which have adopted health and hygiene global standardized protocols – so consumers can experience ‘Safe Travels’ as the sector shifts to a new normal. The stamp is awarded for the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTCC) through the Costa Rica Tourism Board (ICT) with a view to a future of travel which is safe, secure, seamless and provides an authentic and meaningful experience to the traveler across the journey; one which supports the livelihoods of millions and contributes to sustainable economic growth.

The Ecological Blue Flag is a distinctive that is awarded annually, which recognizes the effort and voluntary work in the search for conservation and development, in accordance with the protection of natural resources, actions to face the climate change, and the improvement of public health of the inhabitants of Costa Rica. Ecole Travel has received recognition for its management within the Climate Change category.

With the purpose of keeping in conservation, Ecole travel acquired more than 34 hectares of forest in the town of Turrialba. This land is located at the end of the biological corridor of the Biosphere, adjacent to the Wildlife Refuge “La Marta”. It is officially registered within the “Costa Rican Network of Nature Reserves”.

ECOLE Travel signed on July 31, 2018, a Payment Contract for Environmental Services with Fonafifo, through which our company receives financial recognition, for a term of 5 years, for the protection of environmental goods and services, which are generated in 34.8 hectares of forest that our company owns for conservation purposes.

National Board of Children (PANI) is the governing institution on the rights of children and adolescents in Costa Rica. Together with UNICEFF, the Code of Conduct for the prevention of commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents is created. Ecole Travel is recognized as a company that actively participates in the fight against practices that promote this problem in the world of tourism.

Ecole Travel has received official recognition from INAMU (National Institute for Women in Costa Rica), for its internal and external practices that seek to reduce the gender gap. Maintaining a personnel management without discrimination for reasons of gender, Ensuring social responsibility towards Costa Rican citizens and families

Ecole Travel has been a member, with representation on the Board of Directors of CANAECO, for 10 years. It was initiator of the International Conference on Sustainable Tourism Planet, People, Peace(P3) which since 2009 is Costa Rica’s main international event on ecotourism and sustainability, that brings together the greatest exponents in the field.

Ecole Travel has successfully executed a bilateral project from 2008 to 2010, with the Kingdom of Bhutan; ‘Strengthening Tour Operators Associations between Costa Rica and Bhutan’, within the framework of Program for South-South Cooperation Programme between Benin, Bhutan, Costa Rica and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, contributing to the exchange of experiences in sustainable tourism.

The Tourist Declaration (ICT) is a recognition, granted by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute, to all those companies in the sector that comply with technical, economic and legal requirements indicated in the Regulation of Tourism Companies and Activities.

Ecole is part of the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism since 13 May 2013. In signing the commitment, companies pledge to uphold, promote and implement the values of responsible and sustainable tourism development championed by the Code.
