This unique trip will be organized by the community of Yorkín, deep in the rainforests of the Talamanca region and near to the Panamenian border. All guides who will accompany you are from the local BriBri community. They love to share their way of life and vision of the world with you. They try to form a bridge between our western and their ancient civilization.

Lodging: in simple cabins in the village.

 

Price: US$ 120 per person (without transportation) / US$ 175 per person with transportation from Cahuita or Puerto Viejo.

DAY 1 - Trip into the inlands

You drive with your car to the small town of BriBri from where you choose a gravel road that leads along the Sixaola- river. At a tiny place, called Bambu, you park your car safely at a supermarket where your guide is waiting for you. He takes you in his canoa during a spectacular trip over the river Yorkin to his village with the same name. Lunch upon arrival. Then you get a tour through the village which shows you the way this indigenous community lives. You will get acquainted with the growing of cacao and the process to make chocolate drink indigenous style.

DAY 2 - Hike through the pristine jungle

In the morning your guide will take you through the rainforest to a beautiful waterfall, which is located on the Panamanian side of the border. In the meanwhile the guide explains how the BriBri-people uses the plants that grow in the forest for their daily use.Upon return to Yorkín lunch will be served and then you return by canoa to Bambú.
