The small rural community of Juanilama is located in the Northern Plains of Costa Rica. Due to the fact that the inhabitants were too dependent on farming and the region did not offer other job opportunities for the newer generations, they decided to start a small touristic project. They protect the local rainforest and let their visitors get acquainted with their daily live.

PACKAGE DETAILS

DAY 1 - Arriving

Arrival at the communal center of Juanilama. Here you will meet your guest family who will host you for the next days. You will share dinner with them.

DAY 2 - Stay in Juanilama

After a typical breakfast with your host family you will be picked up by your local guide for a hike through the nearby reserve. This is a patch of rainforest that is protected by the local community where much wildlife can be seen. You walk to a beautiful waterfall where you can take a refreshing dip. After lunch another family takes you to their land where they grow organic products for the local market. You will learn about the enormous variety of agricultural products that are grown in the tropics.

DAY 3 - Leaving Juanilama to your next destination

After breakfast it is time to say goodbye the family that maybe have turned to be good friends now!
